Meet Emma McCulloch

I'm Emma, a tattoo removal specialist with a particular interest in cosmetic tattoo removal and the complexities of treating permanent makeup pigments.

Through my clinical work, I've developed a strong appreciation for the importance of careful assessment, understanding pigment behaviour and making informed treatment decisions based on individual responses rather than rigid protocols.

I created these educational resources to share the practical knowledge, clinical observations and decision-making processes I use in my own practice.

My goal is to help fellow practitioners develop stronger clinical reasoning, approach challenging cosmetic tattoo removal cases with greater confidence and make more informed treatment decisions.

Clinical Experience, Practical Education

Cosmetic tattoo removal presents unique challenges. Pigment composition, colour changes, previous treatments and individual skin responses can all influence how a tattoo behaves during removal.

My work focuses on understanding these variables through detailed consultations, careful treatment planning and ongoing reassessment.

Rather than presenting cosmetic tattoo removal as a series of fixed protocols, my educational resources explore the clinical reasoning behind real treatment decisions, including the uncertainties, challenges and lessons learned along the way.

Through real case studies and practical clinic resources, I aim to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and everyday clinical practice.
